Help? Please?

Hi everyone, Is there any way I can get some help from someone in the group to help/guide me in getting my new rig together? I would be so very thankful!!! I've _finally_ been able to buy the components for my brand new desktop computer.While I've messed around inside already built units a tiny bit in the past, I've never built a computer from scratch before. Because of that I'm a bit ... ...uhgm... ...a whole lot intimidated by the process. I do _NOT_ want to take _ANY_ chances on frying and/or blowing anything up! If it is possible that someone in the group can help me out with this, I can bring everything needed to the nextmeeting or to IHOP (which is closer to where I live).But, all I have in the way of a monitor are those great big and heavy CRTs. I would definitely need help getting that from my vehicle to where the build would take place and back if we have time for dealing with software. Which brings up another question that I have: When is the next meeting? I looked at the site and it shows that there are 3 weeks between this past week's meeting on Apr 15 and the next meeting on May 7. Is that correct or just a typo? Anyway, for OSes to be installed on my new rig, I did extremely begrudgingly buy Windows 7 to dual boot with PCLinuxOS. In addition to needing help with getting all the hardware components together into one unit, I also need help partitioning the 64 Gb solid state master hard drive so that the two OSes can reside on it. I have a 1 TB SATA hard drive to be the slave for my files to reside on. This way I can work with all of my files from both OSes while I learn how to handle Linux enough so that I won't have to worry about having to buy Windows again when 7 reaches the point where XP is now. Again, any and all help that anyone may possibly be able give me with my 'project' will be extremely appreciated! I'm looking to hire a fellow sysadmin with 2+ years experience. You will work with me to help look after a couple dozen servers and as many desktops and users. Two colo racks and one employee office, all in Johnson County. The Office is at 13220 Metcalf, in South OP. No out of town travel required. We're a cyber security consultancy, small company with a casual workplace environment. Scripting is especially important to keep up with growing workloads. Fluency isn't required in any language, but familiarity is expected in any. Must be willing to manage multiple projects concurrently. For me this means queuing in screen sessions, tabs, email labels. There will occasionally be after-hours work. Particularly, time-sensitive maintenance. Incident response can happen any time 24x7 as well, but is quite rare. Most production applications are Java or PHP on MySQL. Other staff do development work, we facilitate deploys and keep it running smoothly once it's out. Since we are a managed security firm, any recent, non-trivial security work would be a plus. The successful candidate must enjoy hands-on learning and have a successful track record of technical problem solving and individual accomplishment. I'm particularly looking for an OSX and Apple hardware savant. That's the most common desktop in use at the office, and it'd be nice if we had someone on staff who could run circles around AppleCare any day. I'm also particularly interested in someone who wants to eventually work early hours e.g. 0200 to 1000 to increase clock coverage during which an admin is ready to handle incidents. I realize that is a long shot however. Some buzzwords: OSX, Mandriva, Enterprise Linux, JAVA, Tomcat, Apache, VMWare, MySQL, PHP, BASH, Expect, Cisco, Nagios, Cacti, Git, Atlassian Confluence, Jira, Hudson, Screen, LDAP, Radius, SAN, Backups, Failover, Asterisk, BIND, Google Apps, Documentation. Let me know if I've left anything out. We haven't posted the position yet, but we're looking for candidates. Please reply for more details if you are looking for a job like this. Pay is good, but I shouldn't put a number in public yet. I wan't to see who's out there.
